TP Zelda progress 2 by Aselea TP Zelda progress 2 by Aselea
I've been working on my shoulder armor for the past few days, and got it all done today. :) I realize it's still missing those dangly blue jewels, but I'll add them right when I find some (or make them some way...).

I'm very happy with how it came out, the armor was propably the part I was most worried about. I'm happy with everything; the shape, details and paint job. ^_^ It looks a bit weird though in these photos because it's on a flat-ish surface (lol yes, that's a bed), but I guarantee it looks pretty darn nice when I'm wearing it. I wish I had a dress form.

I'm so glad I'm working on a costume early enough this time.... :XD:

Err, that's kind of a broad question. Can't say anything specific; I just made it using craft foam, acrylic paints, glue and some strong tape.

Sorry, I have a question again. xD
Do you hold it under the hairdryer with the acrylic paints or without?

:iconaselea:
Aselea Featured By Owner Jun 9, 2008  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Yeah, you can heat it when it's painted with no problems. :D I personally think it's easier to paint flat pieces, then heat them afterwards.

Wow...that's amazing.
I'm working on a Zelda Cosplay too. ^^ What did you use to paint it? And what did you use to shape it?
Sry, my english. >_<

Thank you!
I used golden and brown acrylic paints to paint it. Craft foam is easily shaped with heat, I usually use a hairdryer. :XD: Just hold it under heat so it gets pretty warm, and hold the shape until it cools.

I'm trying to make shoulder armour for a costume at the minute. Would you recommend the craft foam??

It's a very beginner-friendly material, I'd certainly recommend it. :D You can shape it with heat and regular acrylic paint works for painting it, it's very easy to use.

I was just saying I liked your approach to Zelda's armor in your art, and I'm seeing here what I had liked so much about it in the coloring around the details. I like your style.

As for that scraps thing, just go to the watch management thing and check the 'scraps' box after the name of the person. The scraps watch is not automatically activated when you watch a person, I just realized that recently as well.
