Princess Zelda

Here's my Princess Zelda (TP version) costume, which I've been working on for a long time now. I debuted it last weekend at Animecon 2008 in Finland, and I'm very happy with all the attention and comments it got.

Everything in this costume down to the underskirt and gloves is made by me, the only exception being the ears, which are bought from Aradani Studios.

The dress is made from bridal satin using a bridal dress pattern, and it's fully lined. The bodice was surprisingly hard to make. I had to craft my own pattern for it, but I guess it turned out nice enough. The detailing goes all the way up the back, like in the references. The glove covers are also made from the same bridal satin as the dress.

All the painting on the glove covers, bodice and banner is painted using fabric paint. The designs on the dress are drawn with fabric markers.

All the armory parts are made from craft foam with plastic and glass gems. I'm very happy with how they came out, even though the shoulder pieces are a bit too small.

This costume suffered some damage at the con, but I'm sure I can get it fixed and wear this again next summer.
